This course is university-level modern chemistry for students majoring in science. CHEM 121a topics include matter and measurement; atoms, molecules, and ions; formulas, equations, and moles; reactions in aqueous solution; gas properties; thermochemistry; periodicity and atomic structure; ionic bonds and some main-group chemistry; covalent bonds and molecular structure; liquids, solids, and phase changes.
This courses is university-level modern chemistry for students majoring in science.  CHEM 121B topics include solution chemistry, kinetics, equilibrium, acid-base equilibrium, complex ions, thermochemistry, electrochemistry, and nuclear chemistry.
Chemistry 120a is a course in the fundamental principles of chemistry targeted primarily for students planning careers in nursing and other allied health professions.  The material is designed to develop working knowledge of those areas of chemistry most relevant to human health and disease.
