Philosophy

This section describes several different philosophies of professional development. Each site has a different perspective that challenges pre-designed thoughts. NCREL This site discusses importance of teachers leading the
classroom in the use of technology. The purpose of this page is to provide educators
with valuable online resources for individual or group learning. Teaching Through Technology A professional development resource for teachers from
the Wisconsin Educational Communications Board (ECB). The project consists
of a continuing video series featuring K-12 educators and a World Wide Web

effective uses of technology in schools and colleges. The report
represents 3,300 school districts and nearly 800 colleges and
universities, monitors and reports on a wide array of educational

of several journals in the area of education and technology. Issues in Technology Professional Development NCREL Critical Issue: "Providing Professional
Development for Effective Technology Use", by Ginger Rodriquez in
collaboration with Randy Knuth of the North Central Regional Educational
Laboratory, provides a comprehensive review of relevant issues. Michigan State University Program Michigan State University allows teachers to earn
"State Board - Continuing Education Units" (SB-CEU's). Using the Internet,
educators may pursue this professional development opportunity with great
flexibility: with or without SB-CEU's; at home, school, or elsewhere; at
any hour of the day or day of the week. The Office of Educational Technology Staff regularly provide training and consulting to
teachers and school personnel throughout the state. Topics range from
seminars on computing basics and web page construction to consulting on
