SEASONED YUCCA FLOUR
Ingredients:
How to make it:
Step 1: Here's a photo of Yucca Flour pack, imported from Brazil, that you can find in global foods markets (we call it "farofa" in Portuguese). "Farofa Pronta" as shown in the picture below means "yucca flour ready to eat".
|
Step 2: In a medium panfry, put some butter or olive oil and let it get hot, add the bacon and cook in medium heat until lightly brown. Add the chopped onions and garlic, and cook until lightly brown as well. Add the whole packet of yucca flour and sprinkle some salt. Let the yucca golden and stir from time to time. Even after you cook for two or three minutes the consistency of the yucca will not change, it will still be powdery. Once the yucca is lightly golden/brown, it will be ready to be served.
|
Step 3: Yucca is served as a side dish for a lot of recipes in Brazil. You can sprinkle it over feijoada, or eat it on the side with grilled beef, chicken or fish. It's delicious!
