dialogue with each other,The SIPDC has set up a listserv (an electronic mail discussion group) to provide a forum to afford individuals in Southern Illinois working with adults an opportunity to:
dialogue with each other,
exchange and share information, best practices and strategies to improve teaching and learning,
seek answers to questions/problems, and
enrich their personal and professional lives.
We encourage administrators, teachers, professional staff and others serving adults and their families in all capacities whether through education and/or training, social services, welfare to work, and education to careers to join us.
Periodically, we will initiate a discussion on a specific topic. We hope you will use this communication link to add your perspective and experience. We also encourage you to begin a discussion on a topic of concern to you.
To join the listserv, sipdc-forum, you must subscribe to the listserv by, sending the following message:
TO: majordomo@siue.edu
FROM: your name
SUBJECT: subscribe
MESSAGE body: subscribe sipdc-forum your email address
For example, I would type:
TO: majordomo@dsiue.edu
FROM: Patti Painter
SUBJECT: subscribe
MESSAGE body: subscribe sipdc-forum ppainte@siue.edu
There should be no other text in the message, so don't forget to change your signature block to none if you use one. You will receive a response to your email from majordomo informing you that you have been added to the listserv membership.
To send a message to the listserv, all members of the listserv receive it, use the following address. Just write the message body as you would normally.
TO: sipdc-forum@siue.edu
SUBJECT: (topic of message you are sending or responding to)
Unsubscribing from the listserv will remove your email address from the listserv. The example below shows you how to do it:
TO: majordomo@siue.edu
