Probably not an easily guessed fact about me is that I have done multiple comedy routines in school, at talent shows.  My first act was for a talent show at the end of 8th grade (and to this day I have no idea why I thought it would be a good idea).  Despite my nerves however, I did well (or so I’ve been told), and after compliments from many of my classmates and my picture on the front page of the paper a few days later, I decided I liked the attention and decided to try out for the high school talent show my freshman year.  With more encouragement after freshman year I did the act the next year, probably my most successful yet troubling act.  That year I add a joke making fun of a student who had the nasty habit of picking fights with people that he couldn’t beat (for some reason people didn’t seem to like him very much). The long cascade of laughter (which to my delight included many of the teachers, even the old librarian) the joke landed me a few small fan pages on Facebook, and a near suspension. Coincidentally, the next year the show had no comedians.  I returned my senior year to deliver my last act (and probably worst do to more censoring, but maybe I was just running out of ideas at this point). I still try to come up with some jokes now and then, even if they would be funny only on a stage, just to try to leave my opportunities open should the chance to do another routine arise, though I might not if I did have the chance.  Putting the acts together proved harder than I thought back in 8th grade and I’m not sure if I would have done it year after year without people pushing me to.
