About me

"Everyday is a new chance to make your dreams come true."

I was born in Southfield, MI. I was born into a fabulous family. Although it took my brother and I roughly 16 years to realize that it would only benefit us to be friends and not enemies. When I was 10 years old my family started to move around. In less than 5 years we moved three times. From the start of my academic life until high school I attended eight different schools. All the moving and changing of schools forced me to learn how to adapt to new situations rather quickly. I think this is when my fasination for traveling and finding new places began.

My senior year my best friend had asked me to go to England with her to visit her family. I jumped on that offer instantly. My parents decided that would be my graduation present, and what a present it was. I was working at the time to save money for the two week trip as well, however, my mom made me an offer I couldn't resist. She knew I really didn't want to go to my senior prom so she offered me $400 cash to put towards England if I choose not to go to my prom. I took that offere before she could change her mind.

A week after graduation I was off to England. I had only ever been on a plane one other time and it was to visit my brother in San Diego. This was a huge step to travel to England by myself to meet up with my best friend. I was not only meeting my best friend, but she also had 2 other friends with her. I was the only one going to only stay 2 weeks the other girls were suppose to stay the entire summer. By the end of the 2 weeks I had decided to change my flight to the end of the summer and the other 2 girls decided to go home as soon as possible. In fact, I was not the only one who wanted to stay but the local pub raised the money that it costed to change my flight so that I would not have to worry about that extra expense.

Since we were staying with family we got to experience things that most tourist didn't get to see. Her cousin owned a candy shop in the local village so we would work there two days a week for some extra spending money. At the local pub we would work some nights just for fun. We had also taken a mini vacation to both Scotland where we stayed for 2 weeks and Wales where we spent a long weekend. By the end of the summer her and I were both offered jobs for the next summer if we chose to come back. Unfortunately, our friendship did not last until the next summer. We had made the fatal mistake of being roommates our freshman year of college.

Although our friendship didn't last that year, we did make it through our freshman year of college. After my freshman year I decided to take a break from school and do my own thing and try to find myself. I had made the decision to become a flight attendant. To make a decision like not to be in college and to start a career as a flight attendant was a huge and out of character choice for me.

I had done a lot of traveling for work. I have stayed at least one night in 43 states. However, the only traveling I had done for pleasure while being a flight attendant was to Puerto Rico for a week. I was young and wasn't get paid enough to really travel and explore on my own. Plus it didn't help that all my friends were in school still and could not afford to travel or take the time away from school.

During my flight attendant career I also had a chance to go to New York. It was a dream of mine to be able to go to New York and test my skills. I had been training for months to see if I had what it took to make it in New York. At the time my parents were in Ireland, therefore, my brother was on the end of the phone every night feeding my encouraging words and reminding me why I chose to go. Well if you know me at all you know I am not an award winning actress but that is totally cool. It wasn't for me. I was there with a company and several friends I had made over the last several months. I was constantly making sure that their outfits were okay, running up and down blocks making sure they had the right accessories. It was a hard fall and I did not take it easy, but I did realize that acting was not for me and I will eventually find what is for me.

After about 2 years I decided to go back to school and give it a chance. The flight attendant gig was an amazing experience but I had to go back to reality. School has never really been my thing. I always say if I could get my bacholer's degree in traveling I would have graduated Cum laude. Although I had gone back to school I did not stop traveling. The fall of 2009 my aunt took me on adventure most 22 year olds get to take. We had gone to Paris and traveled through Greece. The summer prior was a hard summer I had made some decisions that would change my life. I knew about our travels 3 weeks before we were about to leave and only had a short amount of time to prepare and get it approved by my teachers. This trip was completed unplanned and spontaneous. Each night we had to find a place to sleep and where we were going to be the next day. I was traveling with my aunt and her sister-in-law. We had spent three days in Paris and the rest of the two weeks traveling to Athens and several Greek Islands.

Greece has always been one of those places that I would love to go but never thought it was imaginable. I was so beautiful that words or even pictures cannot explain the beauty of everything in Greece. Every morning you would wake up and each moment could take your breathe away. Although it is a lot like you see in movies, it is also very different when you experience it in person.

I have not taken a huge trip since I was in Greece, however, this summer will change that. I am fortunate enough that I will be studying in Rome over the summer. I will about 5 weeks there studying then my mom and aunt will be joining me and we will travel through Italy and France all by train for about another 2 weeks. This trip is another trip that will be a trip of a lifetime.

I understand that this page was suppose to be about me and who I am but traveling is a huge part of who I am and who I want to continue to be. I love finding new places and exploring new surroundings. I am very grateful for all the chances that have come my way.
