Biography

Where to begin...Well I was born here locally in Edwardsville, Illinois and grew up in the small town of Troy until about 2nd grade. My father worked for Anheuser-Busch and had our family, who includes my mother, father and younger brother, transferred to New Hampshire for 8 years. Growing up in New Hampshire for those 8 years was every kids dreams with endless outdoor activities that was readily available everywhere you look, not to mention all my other activites. When I was young I often moutain hiked, made frequent trips to the beach, skiied, snowboarded, was a cheerleader, took and taught American Kenpo karate, took dance classes, four-wheeled, mountain biked, tree-climbing (a personal favorite) along with many more.

Needless to say all my fun in New Hampshire ended abruptly when my father transferred my family back down to Illinois my freshmen year of high school. Imagine trying to take a 13-year-old girl from her friends and activities at that age. While this was a hard time in my life I learned early that life does not always go according to plan and that we all must "roll with the changes."

With little difficulty I settled into Triad High School without so much as feeling like I did not belong. I always had it easy making friends so meeting new people was no problem for me. I quickly joined the cheerleading team here at Triad and made even more friends. I graduated from Triad in 2007 ready for college and to meet even more people. Plus the idea of living on my own can be a lovely idea for any 18-year-old.

I decided to attend college at Southern Illinois University of Carbondale. I picked this college because it had the classes I needed for my major and the fact that it was only 2 hours from home. Very quickly of course I made friends and even joined a sorority with the beautiful and fun loving ladies of Delta Zeta. I spent 2 years at this college where I finally decided on Speech Communication as my major. I found that my love for people and speech was a perfect asset to have when following a Public Relations track.

While I absolutely LOVE SIU at Carbondale, I had to make the decision to come home and attend school at SIU Edwardsville, being that I was able to land an internship at a radio station and popular website in downtown St. Louis. I found that making this decision was one of the hardest ones I've ever had to make being that I had made a home in Carbondale. However, I always look to the future and make the choice knowing that I would put myself further ahead of the game if I started making connections now. It is a well known fact that the job market is not one for many opportunities right now and i want to have a solid job lined up as soon as I graduate.

So now this brings us to the present. Currently I am a junior at SIU Edwardsville and am taking every effort to make sure I graduate on time and build my resume up as much as possible. I have plans to graduate in May of 2011 and must decide if I wish to stay in the St. Louis area or move to the Chicago area. Either way this time will pass sooner than I expect!!
