Courses:
312-3 NORMAL LANGUAGE AND SPEECH ACQUISITION.
Normal development of linguistic code, including phonology, morphology,
syntax, semantics, pragmatics. Prerequisites: 231, 201.

441-3 DISORDERS OF ARTICULATION AND PHONOLOGY.
Factors influencing atypical development of the phonological system
including articulation; characteristics, assessment and intervention of
articulatory and phonological disorders. Prerequisites: 231, 320.

444-3 LANGUAGE DISORDERS OF CHILDREN.
Etiology, assessment, and intervention with infants, children, and
adolescents with language disorders. Prerequisites: 312, 320.

450-3 CLINICAL PROCEDURES IN MEDICAL AND EDUCATIONAL SETTINGS.
Role of the speech-language pathologist in medical and educational
settings including legal, organizational, and professional issues relating to
service delivery options. NOT FOR GRADUATE CREDIT.
Prerequisites: 441, 444, 445.

515-3 WORKSHOP IN CENTRAL AUDITORY PROCESSING DISORDERS: ASSESSMENT AND
MANAGEMENT
Neuroanatomical basis of central auditory processing and its disorders, current techniques of assessment and management.  This course is designed to assist the professional in the educational setting in gaining the knowledge base necessary for understanding the mechanism of auditory processing.  Current evaluation techniques and management strategies for children with central auditory processing disorders, and the interdisciplinary focus of service delivery will be emphasized.  Prerequisites: 461, 471, 544.

541-3 PHONOLOGIC DISORDERS IN SPECIAL POPULATIONS.
Study of characteristics, assessment and intervention related to
phonological disorders in children with sensory impairments, craniofacial
anomalies, neurogenic disorders, and medically fragile conditions.
Prerequisites: SPPA 441, 520 or equivalents.

544-3 SEMINAR IN LANGUAGE DISORDERS OF CHILDREN.
Etiology, assessment, and intervention procedures for individuals with
language disorders from birth through adolescence. Prerequisite: SPPA 444.

548-3 DYSPHAGIA.
Specialized course dealing with etiology, assessment and treatment
strategies for individuals with feeding and swallowing disorders from
infancy through adulthood. Prerequisites: SPPA 520, 541, 545 or
equivalents.
