The Miller Family Reunion (1926)

One of Clara Sullivan's photographs that my mother has saved contains a goldmine of information about our family. It is simply marked "miller reunion 1926" in my grandmother's handwriting.

I asked mom about it in October, 2002. She said it was taken at Lubeck, West Virginia. In the front row are Lizzie Oliver, Clara Sullivan, "Aunt" Kate Fickeisen Miller, Eva Fickeisen Noe, and Anna Fickeisen Biehl. The man standing farthest to the right is Jacob Fickeisen. Three sisters and one brother, all children of Abraham and Margaretha Mueller Fickeisen. Birthdates are Catherine (Kate), 1850, Eva, 1857, Anna, 1859, and Jacob, 1868 or 1869. This is only one of two pictures that I have found of Catherine Fickeisen Miller. The other picture is much older. I estimate that it may very well have been taken before 1900. It is a picture of the Miller family, husband, wife and three children.

Of the remaining people who are standing, three or four can be identified. On the left is my mother, Lorene. Immediately behind Lorene is the wife of Kate Miller's son, Andy, who is standing immediately to her right. Of the two women standing to the right of my mother, one could very well be Kate's only daughter, Carrie Miller Wiley. We know of her only through the second picutre of the Miller family.
