Step 2: View the
rehearsal checklist* below.

is linked above. Credit goes to author Victor Capecce.
Step 3: Keeping in mind the rehearsal
methods you read about in the textbook chapter and the
checklist above, create a video of yourself rehearsing a
speech in which you briefly introduce yourself to a new
group of people. In this speech, you may introduce
yourself in any way you see fit, as long as you speak for at
least two minutes. You should write this speech
yourself and speak extemporaneously from note cards or an
outline, following the guidelines in the textbook chapter
above. Return to the "delivery methods" page if you
need to be reminded of what it means to speak
extemporaneously. Remember, this is just a rehearsal
video, so it won't be a perfectly polished speech.
Embed your rehearsal video in a post on the class blog, or
upload it to YouTube and paste a link to the video in a blog
post.

Step 4: Once you have completed all lessons on this
site and feel comfortable delivering a speech, you should
create a final video of yourself delivering the introduction
speech you rehearsed using the extemporaneous delivery
method. Unlike the rehearsal video described above,
this video should should display a polished, well-rehearsed
speech. Please embed your final video in a post on the
class blog, or upload it to YouTube and paste a link to the
video in a blog post.
