Preparing the Environment
To setup your account so that you can use Cadence
software here at SIUE, follow these steps
- Log into
your EE account in the SCAD Lab (the cadence
tools don't work yet in the CVIP lab), and in a
command window, type "/home/cdsadmin/bin/add_cds".
This will setup your cadence directory.
- In the
same command window, type "cds". This
will setup the environment for cadence. Note,
this will disable the use of the mentor tools IN THIS COMMAND WINDOW
ONLY. You can use cadence and mentor tools side by side if you open
another command window.
- Any
time in the future that you need to use the cadence tools, you must first
type "cds" in the command window.
