Board Notation Setup

This challenge will help you to better know “exactly” where the pieces start and how to keep track of a game for the sake of reviewing afterward. Feel free to do this challenge with a board in front of you as opposed to trying to draw the picture in your head.

 

Name the correct notation for the Black and White Pawn placement in that order. (Hint: Write this notation down in an entire line format instead of individual piece)

Name the correct notation for the Black and White King (Hint: 7 spaces away from each other on opposite board colors)

Name the correct notation for the Black and White Queen (Hint: Also 7 spaces away from each other and Queen will always be on her own color)

Name the correct notation for both Black and both White Bishops (Hint: Three spaces away from another horizontally)

Name the correct notation for both Black and both White Knights (Hint: Five spaces away from another horizontally)

Name the correct notation for both Black and both White Rooks (Hint: Seven spaces away from another horizontally)
