Materials:

          Classroom

          TV and VCR

          Video:  The History of E. St. Louis

 

Preparations:

1.     Set up the TV and VCR before class.

Have the video in the VCR and set to play before students enter the room.

2.     Display maps from lesson 1

 

Methods:

1.     Introduce video.

2.     Play entire video.

3.     Have students take notes and write down any questions they may have during the video.

 

Evaluation/Assessment:

1.     Answer these questions:

·         What do you think are some of the problems now facing the ESTL community?

·         How serious are these problems?

·         How do these problems affect the members of the community?

·         Name a solution for each problem.

2.     What were some arguments for and against this proposed solution?
