Set up projector and screen.
Scan K-W-L (r) worksheet
Methods:
1.
Review the
concepts to research from the K-W-L (r) worksheet completed in the previous
lesson.
2.
Have students
follow each step as you project it on the screen.
3.
Click on the Inspiration
icon on the desk top screen of the computer.
4.
Double click in
the center of the screen main idea symbol.
Type in the center “The East St, Louis Community”.
5.
Click in an area
of the screen, choose a symbol from the basic symbols, and then click on that
symbol.
6.
Double click
inside the symbol and type one of the concepts to research.
7.
Repeat steps 5
and 6 until all the main concepts have been inserted in the concept map.
8.
Connect each
concept with the main idea in the center by clicking on one of the typed
concept symbols and then clicking on “link” in the toolbar. Connect the link with one of the buttons that
light up on the main idea symbol as you connect the two symbols.
9.
Repeat step 8
until all the concept symbols are connected with the main idea in the center of
the concept map.
10.Go to “file” on the menu bar. Click and go to “save as”.
11.Name your file under 3and ˝ floppy(A) drive. Click “save”.
12.Go to “file” on the menu bar and click on close.

the K-W-L (r) worksheet.
