Preparations:

1.     3x5 cards with questions

2.     3x5 cards with websites

 

Methods:

 

1.     Give test on the “World War I and II”.

2.     Collect test papers.

3.     These are the names of some of the notable African Americans from ESTL:

a.     Carl Officer

b.     Rep. Wyvetter Younge

c.     Will McGaughy

d.     Charles Merrits

e.     Dr. Lillian Parks

f.       Elmo Bush

g.     Senator Kenneth Hall

h.     Jackie Joyner-Kersee

i.       Miles Davis

j.       Donald McHenry

4.     Place each name on a piece of paper. 

5.     Fold each piece of paper so that the names are not visible.

6.     Place all the names in a container.

7.     Each student picks a folded paper.

8.     The name on the paper is the person that student will research and present in the power point.

9.     Give each student a list of websites which corresponds to the name of the person that was picked.

10.Each group will research their question using the websites listed.

11.Include at least 3 pictures in your search.

12.Save pictures and information for the final website project in a Word file.

13.Allow 30 minutes to gather the information.

14.Each group will give a five minute oral report of their findings (about 40 minutes total).  The other groups will individually take notes on the handout below as each group reports.

15.Record the information on the following sheet:
