Learning Magazines 2003
Teachers’ Choice Award
Elizabeth Adams Marks’ children’s book illustrations for the Two-Can-Read series, published
by EDUPRESS, Publishing in California, have been selected as one of the
winners of the ninth annual Learning Magazines 2003 Teachers’
Choice Award. Chosen from over
400 entries, the Two-Can-Read series of fifteen children’s books for young
readers was one of 33 national winners chosen by 60 teams of teachers from
across the country. Elizabeth illustrated five of
the winning books. The books were featured in the January 2003 issue of Learning Magazine, published by The
Education Center, Inc. of Greensboro, NC.
Teams
of teachers evaluate each product entry in the classroom. The products are
evaluated on quality, instructional value, ease of use and innovation. One
teaching team used Adams Marks’ book about zoo animals after a field trip to
the zoo with their class. Other
comments said the books illustrations were captivating and the children were
excited to help each other learn how to read.
