Policy Directive #49

The new model of coordinated service and action (as discussed in Johnson and Bebe, 1995) will be implemented beginning August 5, 1998. The goal is to expand our services beyond case work, and move toward human-services integration. The Northeast Regional office already has an excellent track record helping individuals and small groups with solutions to their specific problems. Now our task is to move into programmatic activities (i.e. establishing coordination and communication mechanisms between the SSD, local and state agencies and organizations) which will implement changes that help more people both immediately and in the future.
