What YOU should know about ME:
I am a Graduate Student at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville
pursuing my Master of Arts in Teaching. Along with my classes I am currently
student teaching and substitute teaching at schools in the St. Clair County
area. I recently graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Biological Sciences
from the University of Missouri.
During my time at the University of Missouri I worked in a number of labs,
ranging from assisting in a Tonsillectomy study, to laboring in a plant lab,
to successfully developing my own project in breast cancer survivors at
Ellis Fischel Cancer Center. However, I was most rewarded with my work and
volunteer experience working with youth-oriented programs in positions such
as a camp counselor, program mentor, or volunteer tutor. I enjoyed all of
these experiences and my time with each has effectively and productively
given my life a sense of direction.
My thirst for knowledge is fueled by my passion for people and my desire to
change their lives through what I’ve learned. I’ve taken many classes and
learned much from my professors. However, I believe that none of the books,
notes and lectures in classes I take can teach me more than what I can learn
from the lives I encounter in my personal and professional experiences. I
thirst for that knowledge more than anything and I strive to share it with
others, because that knowledge enables me and it continually fuels my desire
to change lives to the best of my ability.
What I think about LIFE:

"Set goals, change goals, have dreams, follow them, live a lot, learn more,
don't oversleep, sleep in, listen, speak out, ask for help, be independent,
make a change, make friends, forget enemies, study, study harder, get
involved, make it last, enjoy life!"
"Some succeed because they are destined to; Most succeed because they are
determined to."
"Everyday is a runway. Always be prepared because you ALWAYS have an
audience."
"Luck is when preparation meets opportunity."
