The lesson is designed to be completed by class periods that are approximately 50 minutes long and meet five days a week.  It is anticipated that 3-4 days will be needed for research.  This is a single disciplinary project.

Students will need to be divided into groups of four to complete the WebQuest.

A potential problem could be student disinterest in the topic.  A solution to this problem is to explain that conservation and sustainable practices are important to maintaining a planet rich in biodiversity regardless of the species of focus.

This lesson would be suitable for a teacher of any skill level.

This lesson is not designed for a one computer classroom setting as each student is required to conduct their own research.  A variation in the way the lesson might be carried out is if students have access to or are assigned individual pieces of technology such as an iPad, Kuno, or Chromebook. In this case the lesson can be completed in the classroom at their desks/tables.
