Alumni Association Cooks Up STAT BBQ

(Edwardsville, Ill.) The SIUE Alumni Association launches a new program called STAT with its first Annual BBQ at the Cougar Lake Pavilion. The BBQ takes place on Wednesday, September 17, 2008 from 6-8pm. The event welcomes back the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville students and kicks off the new program STAT.

STAT, Students Today, Alumni Tomorrow serves three crucial functions: to ease transition from college to graduation for students, to give students the opportunity to network, and to create an easy path from student into the Alumni Association. STAT will help build the relationship between its current students and the alumni of the school.

The BBQ will have free food, games, prizes, and many activities including volleyball, washers, bags, canoes, peddle boats and row boats. Steve Jankowski, Director of Alumni Affairs, said “The Alumni Association hopes the STAT BBQ will put a spotlight on the program and bring attention to STATs desire to mentor current students in their chosen life paths.”
