If you are considering dropping a course for Fall 2022:
- Withdrawing from a full term course now (and up to October 28th) will result in a grade of a W. This will not impact your GPA; it may impact your financial aid or scholarships. You do not need any instructor/advisor permission to drop a class for a W. However, I highly recommend that we discuss your options and the consequences before you decide to drop. Please Schedule an appointment through Starfish or by calling the office at 618-650-3790.
- Deadline for WPass/WFail for full term courses (signature required) November 18th. WP does not impact GPA; WF counts the same as a failing grade.
- If you receive financial aid, you should check in with Financial Aid finaid@siue.edu before deciding to drop a class (especially if you are dropping below 12 credit hours).
- If you receive Cougar Pride, Johnetta Haley, or CODES scholarships, you must maintain a 2.9 GPA and complete 12 credit hours each semester to remain in good standing with your scholarship. If you have questions, contact Financial Aid.
- If you are a military connected student and using benefits, you need to check in with Military & Veteran Services before deciding to drop a class.
- If you live on campus and are considering dropping below 9 credit hours, you need to contact the Housing Office.
If you are considering a full Withdrawal from all of your classes, you have to complete the Withdrawal Checklist and Form.
