School of Pharmacy Conditional Entry Program (CEP)
Fall 2023 admission is closed for the Conditional Entry Program.
Incoming first-year students who enter SIUE directly from high school can complete the two-year pre-pharmacy curriculum with the intention of pursuing admission to the four-year professional Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program.
Conditional Entry Enrollment Criteria
For fall 2023, first-year students who are offered conditional entry must have the following minimum math, chemistry and English placements for fall 2023 to enroll in the CEP. ALL minimum criteria must be achieved no later than May 1, 2023.
Placement in MATH 125: Precalculus Mathematics with Trigonometry or higher-level mathematics course. Calculus placement is preferred. If a minimum MATH 125 placement is not achieved, students are no longer eligible for the CEP.
- MATH 125 placement can be earned in one of the following ways:
- Minimum Advanced Placement (AP) test score of 3 for Calculus AB or Calculus BC
- Minimum ALEKS (math placement test) score of 61 for pre-calculus; score of 76 for calculus
- Minimum grade of C in dual credit course offered through a regionally accredited college/university equivalent to MATH 120: College Algebra
Placement in CHEM 121/125A: General Chemistry I. If a minimum CHEM 121/125A placement is not achieved, students are no longer eligible for the CEP.
- CHEM 121/125A placement can be earned in one of the following ways:
- Minimum ACT subscore ≥ 23 OR
- Minimum SAT math section ≥ 560 OR
- Minimum SAT math test score ≥ 28 OR
- Minimum ALEKS (math placement test) score of 61 or higher OR
- Chemistry Readiness Exam (CRE) score ≥ 39 OR 34-38 with 17+ CRE math subscore OR
- CHEM 113 (Intro to Chemistry) college credit or higher by the start of the fall 2023 semester
Placement in ENG 101: English Composition I for fall 2023 as this course is required for the first semester of the CEP.
- ENG 101 placement can be earned in one of the following ways:
- Minimum ACT subscore of 21 for English and reading OR
- Minimum SAT subscores of 28 for writing and language and 27 for reading OR
- Minimum Advanced Placement (AP) test score of 3 for English Language and Composition OR
- Minimum International Baccalaureate (IB) test score of 4 for English A: Language and Literature OR
- MInimum SIUE placement test score of 243 for writing and reading OR
- Minimum grade of C in dual credit course offered through a regionally accredited college/university equivalent to ENG 101
