As a lifelong resident of the western suburbs of Chicago, and a native of Western Springs, Ill., Laura is excited to show Chicago students all SIUE has to offer! She earned a Bachelor of Arts in political sciences from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign in 2014. As an undergraduate student, she was a member of Alpha Epsilon Phi sorority and held a leadership role in a student-run, on-campus theatre company. Since graduation, Laura has developed a passion for working with the diverse students in the Chicagoland area and hopes to help them realize their educational goals. She especially enjoys working with first-generation students and those who need help understanding the financial aid process. She is a member of the Illinois Association for College Admission Counseling and Chicago Area Regional Representatives, and is always eager to learn new ways to assist students with the college search process.
Hobbies
Laura loves spending time with her dog, Fergus, cheering on the White Sox and the occasional trip to see a play or a musical. She also considers herself especially talented at finding ways to make typically unhealthy recipes a bit lighter. Most of all, she loves good conversation and a good laugh, and she always tries to remember this while working with students and their families.
