Dr. Ken Moffett

Kenneth W. Moffett is currently a data scientist who specializes in causal inference, time series and panel data analysis. He has co-authored three books: Web 2.0 and the Political Mobilization of College Students (2016), The Political Voices of Generation Z (2022), and Strategic Responsiveness: How Congress Confronts Presidential Power (2025). His research has been published in American Politics Research, Climatic Change, Congress and the Presidency, Environment and Behavior, Legislative Studies Quarterly, Party Politics, Social Science Computer Review, and more. He has written essays that have appeared in The Washington Post, The Hill, The Huffington Post, The St. Louis Post-Dispatch, and the Edwardsville Intelligencer. He has provided analysis and commentary for numerous broadcast and print media outlets including C-SPAN3, National Journal, National Public Radio, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, KSDK, KMOV, KMOX, and KTVI.
