REVERSE Mission
We take a data-driven public health-informed approach to preventing targeted violence through research, education, and community engagement.
Our research seeks to better understand the risk factors and protective factors associated with support for targeted violence. By identifying the mechanisms by which people turn toward and away from support for violence, more effective prevention programs can be developed.
Our education programs, based on multiple national and regional surveys of over 10,000 respondents, raise community awareness about targeted violence and encourage community prevention efforts, build digital media literacy skills among college students, and help law enforcement agencies better understand the growing threat of targeted violence and how a whole of society approach can help mitigate this risk.
Our community engagement efforts seek to engage concerned community members and key stakeholders in the work of targeted violence and terrorism prevention and strengthen civic engagement.
Our efforts have been supported by federal grants from the Department of Homeland Security’s Center for Prevention Programs and Partnerships (opportunity number DHS-22-TTP-132-00-01 and opportunity number DHS-24-TTP-132-00-99).
