Preparing for Class Registration:

  • Just Getting Started?
    • Review Degree Works - also accessible via the link within CougarNet.
    • Verify that your account is paid up through the last term.  Contact the Bursar Office with any questions.
    • If you have not done so already, meet with your Academic Advisor or Graduate Program Director as soon as possible to discuss your enrollment plans.  They will also be able to release your advising check-in hold and assist with other registration holds.
    • This is a good time to verify that your address, phone number, and emergency contact information are correct. You may view and update this information by using the Personal Information menu in CougarNet.
  • Student Declaration of Current Residence and/or Relocation Policy
    • To adjust or verify your current address and personal information, visit the Personal Information menu in CougarNet.
      • Every Student is required to report a correct current address at the time of registration. Any change of current address must be updated through CougarNet within 5 business days after the change becomes effective.

If the current residence is outside the state of Illinois and the student is an online student or a student connecting to an on-line course while physically located outside the state of Illinois, the student should access the Authorization page prior to registering for a class/program to verify SIUE’s Authorization to offer on-line courses to a student physically located outside the state of Illinois.

    • For more details see Current Resident and/or Relocation Policy - 1Q10.
  • Ready to Register?
    • We are excited to inform you that we will be implementing the new Registration module for CougarNet.  The basic functionality will remain for using CougarNet for Registration, for example, the ability to look up courses, see registration information, and register for classes.

What are we excited for in the new Self-Service Registration -

      • Mobile-friendly design for Self-Service Registration
      • As you build your semester schedule, your course section will populate in the Schedule grid based on the days and hours the classes are scheduled to meet.  You may also continue to view the list format under the Schedule Detail tab.
      • In the Register For Courses menu option, the Plans tab will allow you to quickly search for sections from your predetermined plan if this has been established with your advisor.  To view your full degree plan, access Degree Works.  The information is available through the Plans tab if it has been developed with your advisor.
    • So beginning for Summer/Fall 2020 Registration, you will access the Registration module by the following or visit Class Registration for a detail video instruction.
