Emergency Campus Telephones
In a continuing effort to provide a safe campus environment to work, study and play, emergency telephones allow for easy communications to the SIUE Police Department.
The telephones are equipped with one button for emergency situations and another button for non-emergencies. The emergency button will automatically dial an emergency telephone line at the SIUE Police Department and simultaneously notify the police telecommunicator the caller's location. The non-emergency button may be used to request help for car trouble, to obtain an escort, or any other non-emergency situations. Each phone is equipped with a strobe light that is automatically activated when the phone is used. The strobe light will stay lit until a police officer de-activates the light.
Emergency outdoor telephones are located on the fan lots east of the academic area, north of University Park, and along the bike path to Cougar Village Apartments.
If you need to report a malfunctioning machine, please contact the police department at 618-650‑3324.
