Drug Information Services for Preceptors
The SIUE Drug Information and Wellness Center (DIWC) is available to all preceptors for many of your drug information needs. We offer this service as a courtesy to anyone who is currently involved in the education of our students.
Examples of Request Classifications:
- Assistance in selection of optimal therapy, appropriate agent or dosage regimen
- Drug administration
- Pharmaceutical formulations
- Pharmacology or mechanism of action
- IV therapy and infusion devices
- IV stability or compatibility
- Adverse drug reactions
- Drug interactions
- Product, tablet, or capsule identification
- Legal or regulatory issues
- Foreign or investigational drug identification
- Product availability
- Pharmacoeconomics
- Drug use in pregnancy and lactation
Requests to the center are accepted Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. central time. The SIUE DIWC is closed on weekends and all University holidays. A voice mail system is in place when the faculty is unavailable.
