Dr. Fred Gattas

Dr. Fred Gattas is a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice. Dr. Gattas graduated from the University of Tennessee’s College of Pharmacy in 2001 as a nuclear authorized user with his Pharm.D. degree. Dr. Gattas started practicing as a staff pharmacist with the Memphis Mallinckrodt pharmacy, obtained his board certification in nuclear pharmacy and was promoted to radiation safety officer. In 2006, Dr. Gattas was promoted to senior quality assurance associate for Mallinckrodt Inc. and relocated to St. Louis, where he was then promoted to pharmacy quality manager in 2008 and was responsible for the continuing quality improvement program. Currently, he is the corporate pharmacy quality manager for Triad Isotopes. Dr. Gattas was also a facilitator for Mallinckrodt’s new hire training classes and is an assistant professor for the University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy, SIUE and the St. Louis College of Pharmacy. Dr. Gattas has served as the new practitioner officer for the APhA-APPM Nuclear Section, as chair of the APhA-APPM New Practitioner Network, as chair for the Tennessee Pharmacist Association’s Pharmacist Society, as chair of the BPS Nuclear Specialty Council and as an officer for the Nuclear SIG of APhA-APPM. He remains active in the profession as a member of APhA, ASHP, and the Society of Nuclear Medicine in addition to the Tennessee and Missouri state pharmacy associations. Dr. Gattas is also a member of the Board of Governors for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
