The Rising Star Award

The Rising Star Award honors distinguished alumni who have graduated within the past ten years. These individuals are already making a significant impact in the field of pharmacy through their service, leadership, and dedication to advancing the profession. Their continued connection to and support of the SIUE School of Pharmacy further demonstrate their commitment to giving back while building remarkable careers.

• 2026 Rising Star Award Recipient - Brentsen Wolf, PharmD, RUCIF
  • School of Pharmacy Class of 2021
  • In a short time, Dr. Wolf has established himself as a leader in the pharmaceutical industry as a Senior Medical Science Liaison with AbbVie, following a highly competitive postdoctoral fellowship with Merck and recent role as a Medical Science Liaison for AstraZeneca. Beyond his professional role, his founding of RxTeach and commitment to expanding access to education, mentorship, and scholarships for SIUE students demonstrate a deep dedication to advancing the profession and supporting future pharmacists. Dr. Wolf’s innovation, leadership, and continued engagement with SIUE exemplify the promise and impact this award is intended to recognize. 

The Distinguished Alumni Award

The Distinguished Alumni Award honors alumni who are at least ten years beyond their graduation, reflecting a sustained record of impact and leadership. The recipient must demonstrate excellence over the course of their careers in pharmacy. Recipients are recognized for their outstanding professional achievements, meaningful service to the profession, and continued loyalty and engagement with the SIUE School of Pharmacy.

• 2026 Distinguished Alumni Award Recipient - Casey Reed, PharmD, PhDc, MBA, MSc, MS, CSP, FAMCP

  • Reed’s career spans community practice, managed care, and executive leadership in the biopharmaceutical industry, where she currently serves as the Head of Strategic Solutions at Sanofi, driving national population health strategy and innovation. A nationally recognized leader, researcher, and award recipient, she has advanced patient outcomes through evidence generation, product launches, and value-based care initiatives. Equally impactful is her continued service to SIUE as an advisory board member, educator, and mentor to both current students and fellow SIUE Pharmacy alumni, exemplifying the excellence and engagement this award is meant to honor. 

Distinguished Service to the Profession Award

The Distinguished Service to the Profession Award recognizes individuals or organizations who have made exceptional contributions to the profession of pharmacy. Honorees are selected for their distinguished careers, dedication to advancing the field, and meaningful support of the School.

• 2026 Distinguished Service to the Profession Award Recipient - Julie Bickers
• Through Julie’s role as a healthcare specialty supervisor with Walgreens, she has influenced pharmacy practice across multiple sites while mentoring and developing the next generation of pharmacy leaders. Her longstanding service as a clinical preceptor and member of the SIUE School of Pharmacy Advisory Board reflects a deep dedication to experiential education and strengthening the profession’s future workforce. Julie’s sustained impact on both pharmacy practice and education exemplifies the highest standards of service, leadership, and professional excellence.
