SIUE HBCU Pharmacy Careers Retreat
The Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) School of Pharmacy is excited to host an HBCU Pharmacy Careers Retreat on the campus of SIUE in Edwardsville, Illinois. The SIUE School of Pharmacy is dedicated to mentoring health care professionals who will care for the needs of a diverse world. The School of Pharmacy developed this one-day retreat to introduce qualified students from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) to consider a path in pharmacy. The retreat will engage participants throughout the day with focus groups from experts in the field of pharmacy. Presentations will provide insight into the expertise that pharmacists bring to the medical team. Personal and Professional Development sessions on networking and branding will also be provided. Participants will have the opportunity to engage with the SIUE Career Development Center to improve interview skills that will enhance their interactions with future college or employment interviews.
Travel stipend will be available for all participants.
As part of the application process, all applicants are asked to upload a copy of your current resume or curriculum vitae (CV). Additionally, you will be asked to compose an essay (no more than 300 words) that describes your interest in learning more about pharmacy career options.
