FIRST Program

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

As of May 2011 it is the policy of the Graduate School that the FIRST workshop is mandatory; materials and content of the FIRST workshop will be part of the required New Faculty Orientation. Attendance at the FIRST workshop, presented during New Faculty Orientation, is required for all incoming faculty.

The Faculty Institute for Research, Scholarship, and Technology (FIRST) is workshop designed to familiarize you with resources provided by the Graduate School, help you establish your research agenda, and acquaint you with tools to enhance your teaching and research. Topics include the grants process, finding funding for research and teaching, classroom technology, introduction to grant writing, compliance issues, budgets, intellectual property, contracts, and fiscal responsibilities.

V. Proposal Development

  • Five day submission policy
