Winter session begins soon!

Winter session begins December 17, 2018 and goes through January 6, 2019. Helpful information, including a full course listing and FAQs can be found on the winter session website

To ensure you're prepared for your winter session course, here are some helpful tips from ITS.

  • Know your SIUE e-ID and make sure your password is valid.
  • Have your SIUE University ID number (commonly referred to as your 800 number) and PIN available.
  • Sign up for our e-Lert program. Enrollment in the e-Lert program ensures any issues you may encounter with your e-ID and password can be easily corrected with the least amount of downtime.
  • Make sure you have a valid phone number on file with the University. If you need assistance, we will only be able to contact you at the official number you provided.
  • Prior to the beginning of winter session, test your connectivity from home or from wherever you plan to access your winter session course.

Additional information can be found on our Plan for Success webpage

ITS will provide support during winter session for e-ID maintenance, Blackboard assistance for students and faculty, and other technical issues. For immediate assistance, all users should contact the ITS Help Desk at 618-650-5500. Assistance will be available beginning Monday, Dec. 17, and will even be available Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. You may also send requests via email to help@siue.edu. However, we do not monitor this account 24/7.

Online tutoring will be available for select courses and on a limited basis during winter session. For information about assigned tutors, availability and contact methods, please visit the Tutoring Resource Center webpage

Don't forget your textbooks!

  • Undergraduate Students: You may pick up your textbook(s) beginning the week of December 10 from Textbook Service. If you plan to return home during the break, be sure to visit Textbook Service prior to leaving campus.
  • Graduate and Professional Students: While graduate program fees include the cost of renting textbooks, textbook rental is not available for all graduate-level courses, and additional course materials not covered by the rental fee may be required. Contact the Cougar Store or visit the textbook rental website for additional information and assistance. If you have questions about textbook requirements for your class, please contact your instructor.

Academic Accommodations

If you need to request academic accommodations for winter session, please submit the online application, as well as documentation for review and determination of accommodations no later than December 12. Approved accommodations will cover in-person and online courses.

The Accessible Campus Community and Equitable Student Support (ACCESS) office is in the Student Success Center, Room 1270, and is open Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. The ACCESS office will be closed December 22, 2018-January 1, 2019 for the holiday break.

Please contact us at 618-650-3726 or myaccess@siue.edu with questions.

Visiting students—welcome to SIUE! Please review the visiting student website, which may be helpful to you during winter session.
