Important Financial Aid Information
Dear $SUBSCRIBER.FIRSTNAME,
You may be eligible to receive the Illinois State MAP Grant for the 2020-2021 academic year. However, you have not provided proof of Illinois residency. If you do not provide proof of Illinois residency you may risk losing this grant. Please submit documentation as soon as possible.
Dependent Students: If you were required to file your 2020-2021 FAFSA with parental information, then you are considered a dependent student. Dependent students must provide proof of Illinois residency for the parent with whom they filed the FAFSA.
Acceptable Documentation Includes:
- A copy of your parent's valid Illinois state driver's license OR
- A signed copy of your parent's 2019 Illinois state tax return OR
- A current utility bill
Independent Students: If you filed your 2020-2021 FAFSA and did not include parental information, you are considered an independent student. Independent students must provide proof of Illinois residency showing Illinois residency for the past 12 months.
Acceptable Documentation Includes:
- A copy of your valid Illinois driver's license issued before August 2019 OR
- A signed copy of your 2019 Illinois state tax return OR
- A current utility bill
Please note: P.O. Boxes are not acceptable addresses for Illinois residency. Documentation to prove Illinois residency must have a street address. If you do not have the above documentation, please visit our website or contact our office for other forms of verification.
