Are you interested in earning your Associate’s degree from the community college you attended?
SIUE and all Illinois community colleges have collaborated to provide students that transferred from an Illinois community college without their degree an opportunity to earn their Associate’s.
If you answer yes to the following statements, you may be eligible:
- I have transferred a minimum of 15 transferrable hours to SIUE from an Illinois community college.
- I have earned a minimum of 60 transferrable hours from any previously attended postsecondary institution(s).
- I have not previously earned an Associate’s degree from an Illinois community college.
- I am aware of the degree requirements to earn my Associate’s and will complete the SIUE courses to satisfy those requirements.
All you need to do is complete the Reverse Transfer of Credit Application Release Form and return to transfercoordinator@siue.edu. As a courtesy, we will send this form and an official transcript to the community college at no charge to you. The community college will evaluate your SIUE transcript to determine whether you have satisfied the associate degree requirements.
The community college will contact you regarding the awarding of the associate’s degree.
If it is determined that you have not yet satisfied the requirements of your associate’s degree, it will be your responsibility to request a transcript through standard procedures upon completion of remaining requirements. Upon receipt of a transcript from the community college reflecting completion of an Associate in Arts or Associate in Science degree, your general education requirements may be waived at SIUE.
