Congratulations! Your graduate degree has been awarded and now appears on your official transcript. Here is some helpful information on frequently asked questions regarding diplomas, transcripts, and CougarNet.
Diplomas
- Diplomas are mailed to students approximately 10 weeks after their graduation term. The mailing address is used first if it differs from the permanent address. Please verify your address on CougarNet and update it if necessary. Changes to physical and email addresses can be sent to the Service Center at servicecenter@siue.edu.
- If you have a hold from the Bursar's Office due to any outstanding balance when diplomas are mailed, your diploma will be held until the Bursar's Office has cleared your account. View your student account information on CougarNet to ensure that you have a zero balance.
- Questions concerning diplomas or changes to your diploma name should be directed to the Graduation Department at 618-650-3770 or graduation@siue.edu.

View Degree on my Transcript
The Degree Information at the beginning of your CougarNet transcript will change from PENDING to AWARDED with the official graduation date. Only AWARDED degree information appears on the official transcript.
Student Type
The Student Type on a transcript will state CONTINUING. This is a system-generated note and means that you can continue to enroll in classes at SIUE, if you wish. It will not change to any other type of message such as graduated.
Honors Notation
Graduation honors, such as cum laude, are not calculated for graduate students.
CougarNet Access
Access to CougarNet via e-ID (SIUE email) will discontinue, if there remains a period of no enrollment, shortly after graduation. However, you will still be able to access CougarNet via your student ID number (800#). Please retain your student ID number and password for future use in viewing your records.
