School of Nursing Online Programs Ranked Among Elite

Two SIUE School of Nursing programs have been nationally recognized, ranking among the top schools in the U.S. News & World Report Best Online Programs 2016 edition. Its pioneering RN to BS program was also tabbed among the nation’s top online bachelor’s programs for the first time.

This is the second consecutive year the School's online graduate nursing program has been recognized, and this year marked a signicant climb in rankings.

Nursing in 1954-1960: Professor Emerita Offers History Lesson in Replica Attire

Donning a homemade 1954 replicate uniform, Nursing Professor Emerita Gloria Perry, PhD, takes students back in time for a glimpse into the nursing profession. During Perry's most recent visit she recalled her journey through nursing school with humor and sincerity.

Student Nurses Association Enjoys Explosive Growth

The SIUE Student Nurses Association (SNA) has more than tripled to become one of SIUE’s largest student organizations. Now more than 500 students are connecting with fellow nursing students for support, mentoring, social opportunities and volunteer experiences.

SIUE and Lewis & Clark Partner on Nursing Degree

The School of Nursing and Lewis and Clark Community College (L&C) have announced a new partnership. The Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree track enables community college students to rapidly achieve their baccalaureate degree from the School after attending L&C to complete an associate degree and the majority of the general education requirements.

Honor Society Nationally Recognized

School of Nursing’s honor society of nursing has received its eighth chapter key award for excellence in chapter-related activities. The Epsilon Eta Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI) was honored at the 43rd Biennial Convention in Las Vegas in mid-November. Dr. Chris Durbin (pictured), Epsilon Eta president and associate professor of primary care and health systems nursing, and Dr. Ann Popkess, chair and assistant professor of primary care and health systems nursing, received the official key on behalf of SIUE.
