Choose Live-On for Fall 2019-Spring 2020

As a diverse residential community, SIUE houses nearly 3,300 students on campus. Close proximity to classes, reasonable cost, and a strong community environment make living on-campus an enticing choice. Our upperclass living options all offer shared and private bedrooms and enjoy the same amenities as first year students - Internet access, expanded basic cable, computer lab, laundry, mail facilities, and more. Living on-campus is the best way to get involved in campus activities, find support and meet lifelong friends. Choose to return to campus as an upperclass student at SIUE!

Choose from three housing options: Evergreen Hall, Cougar Village Apartments, and the upperclass wing in the residence hall.

Current residents who wish to live on-campus for fall 2019 can complete the post-process application for space starting March 12 at siue.edu/housing/apply. The deadline to apply is May 1 and a $200 advance payment is required.

Spring Break Information

Bluff, Prairie and Woodland Halls will close at 5 pm on Friday, March 8, 2019 for Spring Break and will reopen on Sunday, March 17, 2019 at 10 am.

Please plan accordingly to pick your students up by the stated deadlines.

Students in Bluff, Prairie and Woodland Halls need to take all personal items that they will need over the break with them. Residents will not be permitted to enter the building during the break. However, they do not need to take everything home, only what is needed for the break period.

Celebrating Student Success in Housing

Over 750 University Housing residents made the Dean’s List this past fall. Each student was invited to attend the annual University Housing Dean’s List reception in February. This year’s reception was held on February 5th in Evergreen Hall and was attended by more than 120 students and their guests. Students were invited to bring a family member, friend or anyone who has contributed to their academic success at SIUE. Campus administrators, faculty members and housing staff were on hand to support the academic achievements of these students. This year’s reception focused on celebrating each student’s academic success and pride in SIUE. Chancellor Randy Pembrook and Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Miriam Roccia gave remarks, and students were given the opportunity to network with one another, staff and faculty. Many students and their guests took advantage of a photo station, and each Dean’s List recipient was gifted a Dean’s List pin. It is University Housing’s privilege to support and celebrate our residents. It is our hope that this event will continue to grow, and more students, faculty and staff will be part of this celebration. Congratulations again to our Dean’s List recipients!

Play in the sun, and shine in class!

Registration opens March 25 for summer classes. Encourage your child to take advantage of nearly 1,000 summer courses, including more online classes than ever before. Students can take an online course while working or doing an internship.

Summer session is a great way for students to complete an extra course—saving money by staying on track to graduate. Many summer classes meet for five weeks or less. Students can lighten their class load for fall, stay within their course sequence, benefit from smaller class sizes and be taught by full-time faculty members.

If students choose to study on campus, comfortable apartment-style housing is available for the entire summer semester, a five-week session or May term.
