Choose Live-On for Fall 2021-Spring 2022

As a diverse residential community, SIUE Housing provides close proximity to classes, reasonable cost, and a strong community environment that make living on-campus an enticing choice. Our upperclass living options all offer shared and private bedrooms and enjoy the same amenities as first year residence halls - Internet access, expanded basic cable, computer lab, laundry, mail facilities, and more. Choose from three housing options: Evergreen Hall, Cougar Village Apartments, and the upperclass wing in the residence hall.

Living on-campus is convenient and the best way to get involved in campus activities, find support and meet lifelong friends. Choose to return to campus as an upperclass student at SIUE!

The application for space for current residents who wish to live on-campus for fall 2021 is available. Visit siue.edu/housing/reservemyspace to learn more.

Fall Break Information

University Housing will switch over to break operations at 5:00 PM on Friday, November 20th, 2020.

University Housing will remain open through fall break and the remainder of the fall semester.

University Housing will resume normal operations at 10 AM on Sunday, November 29th, 2020.

Winter Break Information

The first year residence halls (Bluff, Prairie, and Woodland Halls) will close at 5 p.m. on Friday, December 18, 2020. Evergreen Hall and Cougar Village will remain open during winter break.

Returning Housing Residents will return Friday, January 15 through Sunday, January 17, 2021. Residents will receive information about selecting a date and time for their return in December.

Testing Prior to January Return

University Housing residents who leave for Winter Break will be required to provide proof of a negative polymerase chain reaction (PCR) Covid-19 test before returning to their housing space for the spring term.

New University Housing residents for spring will be required to provide proof of a negative polymerase chain reaction (PCR) Covid-19 test before checking into University Housing for the first time.

  • Tests will not be accepted that were taken prior to Monday, January 4, 2021.
  • Test result must be submitted to Health Service by Wednesday, January 13 or 48 hours prior to your return to campus, whatever is earlier.
  • If your test is negative and received by the deadline for review, you'll be able to move in during your scheduled move-in time. University Housing will provide confirmation via email that you can move-in.
  • If your test is positive, you will not be allowed to move-in. We will work with you to schedule a move-in date when you are cleared from quarantine/isolation.
  • If you do not provide a test result, you will not be allowed to move-in. We will work with you to schedule a move-in date once you have submitted the test result for review. Spring charges will not be adjusted to account for a late check-in.

Additional information about this process will be released, including how to submit to Health Service, in December.

Did you know your student can enroll in courses during winter break?

SIUE offers a three-week winter session beginning December 21. Classes are entirely online to provide easy access for students during winter break. Due to the accelerated timeline, students are expected to dedicate significant time to their coursework and limit themselves to one course. Students can register for a winter course during spring registration which began
November 2. To see available courses and learn more about winter session, visit siue.edu/winter-session.

Encourage your student to check out winter courses as they continue on the path to graduation.
