Meet Ujwal Raj Sah, MS in Civil Engineering student

After completing his undergraduate study in Civil Engineering at Tribhuvan University, Nepal, Ujwal Raj Sah developed an interest in intelligent transportation systems, traffic safety, and simulation. Those interests led him to pursue his MS in Civil Engineering at SIUE with a focus on transportation engineering.

Ujwal quickly made a positive impression on his faculty as both a student and Teaching Assistant when he began his graduate program in the fall of 2021. In his role as a Teaching Assistant for Civil Engineering, Ujwal has been praised for his strong communication skills, great attention to detail, keen awareness of when to ask questions, and reliability. Outside of his work and class responsibilities, Ujwal also serves as the Vice President for SIUE's student chapter of the Institute of Transportation Engineers and is a member of SIUE's Nepalese Student Association.

Upon completing his MS degree, Ujwal plans to enter the industry of transportation engineering and is considering the pursuit of a PhD in the field.
