Plan to Attend SIUE Strategic Plan Open Forums

One-hour open forums for the SIUE Strategic Plan are now scheduled throughout the coming weeks to present the campus community with draft goals, objectives and key performance indicators.

All forums will be held in the Morris University Center’s International Room, and campus community members are invited to attend and offer feedback toward editing and finalizing the draft statements. All sessions will be streamed live on siue.edu/tv

Your input is critical in helping to determine SIUE’s course of action from present day to 2025, when the Plan will again be reviewed:

Goal #1
Increase the recruitment of a diverse student body ready for the rigorous challenges of higher education.

Stop by the Beet Box Mobile Farmers Market on the Quad this fall!

Noon-1:30 p.m.
Tuesdays through the end of October

Fresh vegetables, including tomatoes, cucumbers, squash and more, will be available for purchase. The Beet Box accepts cash or card. Customers can also use their Illinois Link Card.

Details on the Beet Box’s weekly stops are available on the Goshen Market Foundation’s Facebook page.

The market on wheels is among the initiatives supported by SIUE’s food sustainability consortium, a constellation of courses, projects and services related to agricultural education and food access.

IRIS Center's Using Omeka Presentation, Oct. 25

Assistant Research Professor Zachary Riebeling will examine the basics of planning an Omeka archive website in his presentation, "Using Omeka: Strategies and Possibilities."

Using the Exhibition Plug-in from the Rosenzweig Center for New Media at George Mason University, Riebeling will explore how to create a self-reflexive and internally-differentiated digital exhibit.

The plug-in represents a creative means to bypass the restrictions Omeka places on items and collections, allowing for layered and intersecting exhibit levels. This presentation is especially designed for scholars new to Omeka.

Town Hall Meeting to Prevent Underage Drinking and Substance Abuse, Oct. 29

Join in a town hall meeting to discuss topics related to decision-making around alcohol and substance use.

Solid Lines Productions will perform two scenarios related to using/not using alcohol and substances. There will be a number of booths for attendees to visit related to the topic. Attendance prizes will be raffled off.

This event is a result of receiving a grant from Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). It is a collaborative effort among Counseling Services, Prevention Education and Advocacy Center (PEACe), the Office of Dean of Students, the Kimmel Student Involvement Center, Athletics, School of Pharmacy, Psychology Club, Fraternity and Sorority Life, and SIUE Police.

Sign Up Today for a Fall Faculty/Staff Green Dot Education Session

Green Dot is a comprehensive violence prevention program with objectives to decrease the likelihood of dating and domestic violence, stalking and sexual assault.

The intent of the education sessions is to train faculty and staff to endorse, model and support two Green Dot values: (1) power-based personal violence is not tolerated in our campus community, and (2) everyone will do their part to prevent violence.
