12-1 p.m. - Lunch and SIUE digital badging workshops
Today
Center for Faculty Development and Innovation, southwest corner of the second floor of Lovejoy Library

Presenter: Brenda Perea, director of education and workforce strategies for Credly.
Sponsored by: The Office of Educational Outreach, with support from an Excellence in Undergraduate Education (EUE) award.

Alternative or micro-credentials such as digital badges are a growing education and employment trend, leaving faculty and higher education administrators to determine whether badging is the wave of the future or a poor use of university resources that will not benefit students. In this session, Perea will highlight key badging opportunities and challenges, specifically as it relates to digital badging at SIUE. Please don't forget to register.

Supporting Diverse Needs through Inclusive Design and Learner Preference
10 a.m.-Noon
Friday, Oct. 11

Accessible content authoring is not only essential for students who use assistive technologies, but it also results in more usable, flexible content that can adapt to diverse student needs and devices. During the workshop, we’ll discuss some of the key terms and research around inclusive learning and Universal Design for Learning (UDL), and the different ways Ally’s alternative formats and instructor feedback help support those learning goals.
