Sculpture on Campus Program and Featured Artist, Oct. 2-4

Culminating events for this year’s Sculpture on Campus program will take place Wednesday-Friday, Oct. 2-4.

The large-scale work of eight student artists (Sutton Allen, Allena Marie Brazier, Haley Clancy Inyart, Mikala Kozuszek, Joseph J. Ovalle, Lizzi Reinard, Abbi Ruppert and Vincent Stemmler) is on display across the SIUE campus.

SIUE Police Department's Rape Aggression Defense Course, Oct. 5

The SIUE Police Department will present Rape Aggression Defense (R.A.D.) class:

Free of charge

This one-day course is for WOMEN ONLY (faculty, staff, students and their guests).

R.A.D. is a nationally certified self-defense program designed specifically for women. We will spend the day teaching different techniques on how to defend yourself should you ever be in immediate danger.

At the end of the day, we put an officer in a padded suit and allow the students to use the skills taught to defend themselves. This is done in a safe environment, and everything is completely optional.

Appropriate clothing would be tennis shoes, T-shirt with sweat pants or shorts. Bring money for lunch options in the Morris University Center or bring a sack lunch.

SIUE Lovejoy Library “Night in the Stacks” Celebrates MRF 50th Anniversary, Oct. 19

The Ralph Butler Band is the featured artist as Lovejoy Library’s “Night in the Stacks” annual fundraiser celebrates the Mississippi River Festival’s 50th anniversary at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19, on the SIUE campus.

Individual tickets are $65, and seating is limited. Tables of 8 are available for $480. For tickets, call 618-650-2760. Parking is free in Lot A.
