SIUE Marketing & Communications Earns Design Awards

The SIUE Marketing and Communications (UMC) graphic design team has received four University & College Designers Association (UCDA) awards.

The UCDA Design Competition recognizes the best of the exceptional design work by communication professionals to promote educational institutions (secondary, vocational or higher education), and supports the exchange of ideas and information relating to the unique role of these designers. Join us for the Fall 2019 Safe Zone LGBTQIA+ Student Welcome Reception.

This event is sponsored by the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs. Refreshments will be provided.

The primary purpose of this reception is to welcome new and continuing students, faculty and staff members who are members of our LGBTQIA+ community on campus. We invite all allies to attend and contribute to this effort. We will share the collective accomplishments of Safe Zone and its allies over the last year and will highlight what is to come.

The Madison County Regional Office of Education and the SIUE School of Education, Health and Human Behavior (SEHHB) invite you and your students to a meeting about the Madison County Give 30 Mentoring Program.

SIUE Information and Training Meeting:
4-6 p.m.
Thursday, Sept. 5

OR

1-3 p.m.
Friday, Sept. 6
SIUE Lovejoy Library Friends’ Corner (main floor)

Stay for the first 30 minutes of the meeting to learn about Give 30. Stay for the rest of the meeting, if you are ready to register as a potential mentor and save time by completing mandatory training and fingerprinting right away.

SIUE students selected as Give 30 mentors will commit to spending 30 minutes per week visiting a local teenager who has been through a disciplinary process or is otherwise struggling. 

Instructor Taylor Donohoo will present the same information on each date.

The SEHHB will provide cookies and drinks.

The giveaway helps provide students with professional attire needed for an interview, career fair, conference or networking event.

The attire was generously donated by faculty, staff, alumni and employers to help students succeed.

Plan to Attend Hoppe and Vaughnie Lindsay Award Programs Information Session, Sept. 11

The SIUE Office of Research and Projects will hold an information session regarding the FY2020 Hoppe Research Professor Award program and Vaughnie Lindsay New Investigator Award program. Both faculty research grant programs will be discussed during the information session.

The Hoppe Research Professor Award is made to SIUE faculty members in recognition and support of their individual programs of research, exhibitions, performances, or other creative activities. These awards recognize faculty members whose research or creative activities have the promise of making significant contributions to their fields of study. Recipients are expected to produce published scholarly works and externally sponsored grants or contracts. 

The Vaughnie Lindsay New Investigator Awards are made to tenure-track SIUE faculty members to recognize and support individual programs of research or creative activities. These Awards recognize faculty members whose research or creative activities have the promise of making significant contributions to their fields of study, their respective school/department and to SIUE in general. Recipients are expected to produce published scholarly works/products and externally sponsored grants/contracts.
