The Alestle Presents "What I Wish You Knew," April 16

Join The Alestle for its culminating event of its semester-long campaign, "What I Wish You Knew."

Noon
Tuesday, April 16
Morris University Center, Goshen Lounge
Refreshments will be provided

Throughout the campaign, The Alestle has talked with people on all of the SIUE campuses about their personal stories. Those stories have been things that, if others knew, their daily lives on campus might be different.

Speakers – mostly students – will share their stories about being a parent and a student, surviving domestic abuse, coping with addiction in the family, experiencing grief, being a recent SIUE grad, functioning with anxiety, sexual assault and harassment, and being an SIUE employee.

Audience members will also have a chance to ask questions and share their own stories, if they choose.

A representative from Call For Help is expected to be present for anyone needing counseling resources.

The campaign was selected to be a part of the Poynter Institute's College Media Project. The journalism think tank chose nine schools out of more than 60 across the nation to participate.

The Employee of the Month Recognition Program Award is an esteemed accolade bestowed on an employee who epitomizes the University’s core values in his or her daily work. These employees are engaged in accomplishing the mission of the University, upholding our University’s values and routinely exceed the call of duty.
