SIUE University Staff Senate Final Day of Elections

Elections for the following Staff Senate positions will close at 6 p.m. today

  • Civil service: Negotiated and Prevailing Classification (4 seats, 6 candidates)
  • Civil service: Open Range/Confidential, Managerial and Supervisory Exclusions Classification (2 seats, 3 candidates)
  • East St. Louis Campus: Civil service: Negotiated and Prevailing Classification or administrative staff: Represented Classification

Lifelong Learning Speaker Series, April 10

The SIUE Office of Educational Outreach invites you to attend the spring 2019 Lifelong Learning Speakers Series every Wednesday on the SIUE campus.

Big Back Yard
Ages 1-2

Big back yards that include parks, playgrounds and yards of all shapes and sizes were made for play, play, and more play! Our bodies get a gross-motor "goose" when we go on a pretend adventure in our Big Back Yard.

Classes are:

Tuition is $ 75 and is due today.   

Wild Animal Park
Ages 1-2

Let’s take a trip to the Wild Animal Park! We’ll slither like snakes and pounce like leopards, encounter tiny tree frogs and enormous elephants, and visit amazing habitats that are high and low, hot and cold, dry and rainy. Then it’s time for the animals’ favorite activity, which they all do together. It’s the jungle hokey-pokey!  

Classes are:
11 a.m. Thursdays - April 18, 25 and May 2, 9

Green Dot is a comprehensive violence prevention program with objectives to decrease the likelihood of dating and domestic violence, stalking and sexual assault.

The intent of the education sessions is to train faculty and staff to endorse, model and support two Green Dot values:
1. Power-based personal violence is not tolerated in our campus community
2. Everyone will do their part to prevent violence

You’re invited to wear floral shirts, flip flops, hats and other tropical apparel. SIUE gear and jeans are OK, too! We’ve also put in an order for tropical weather!

Call for Presentations for SIUE Diversity Day 2019

The Office of Institutional Diversity and Inclusion, in collaboration with the Diversity Day Committee, invites proposals for engagement sessions and Ed talks for the 2019 SIUE Diversity Day, which will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 15.

The theme for Diversity Day is “From Awareness to Action, SIUE Shaping a Changing World.”

Engagement sessions are 60 minutes long and should be focused on a topic related to diversity, equity and/or inclusion. Proposals will be accepted until Wednesday, May 1.
