Come out and make t-shirts with the Macoupin Art Colllective to hang from clotheslines in the Goshen Lounge and make signs with Call for Help in support of survivors, and to end sexual violence.

Associate Provost Open Forum, April 5

Four candidates were selected to visit campus for the position of Associate Provost for Academic Planning, Assessment and Accreditation. 

The open forum for the fourth candidate, Allison Reeves, PhD, associate professor in the SIUE Department of Educational Leadership will be held:

Yoga: History and Practice
5-6 p.m.
Tuesdays and Thursdays, through April 18
Cost: $10 per session 

This beginning yoga class provides the fundamentals and history principles of yoga. Individuals will learn posture alignment, breath work through guided demonstration and reap the benefits of yoga including improve balance, physical strength, flexibility, relaxation, increased energy, and better digestion. 

Sensing and Action
5:30-7:00 p.m.
Tuesdays, April 9-May 14
Cost: $49 

Most of us move through life unaware of the physical patterns that result in chronic pain, stiffness and/or limited movement. Becoming aware of these patterns and learning that we can change them or adopt new ones can result in freedom of movement, reduction of pain/stiffness and improved quality of life. This course is for all ages and fitness levels, especially seniors. Most of the exercises will be done lying on the floor, so the participant should wear loose, comfortable clothing for easy movement and bring a mat. 

Digital Humanities and the Undergraduate Experience Conference

A two-day conference for students and professional practitioners of digital humanities work in undergraduate education.

Green Dot is a comprehensive violence prevention program with objectives to decrease the likelihood of dating and domestic violence, stalking and sexual assault.

The intent of the education sessions is to train faculty and staff to endorse, model and support two Green Dot values:
1. Power-based personal violence is not tolerated in our campus community
2. Everyone will do their part to prevent violence

SIUE University Staff Senate Elections Open through April 10

Electronic ballots have been sent to eligible employees for the Staff Senate election that opened Wednesday, April 3. Voters will have until 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 10 to cast their ballots.

Elections are being run for the following positions:

  • Civil service: Negotiated and Prevailing classification (4 seats, 6 candidates)
  • Civil service: Open Range/Confidential, Managerial and Supervisory Exclusions classification (2 seats, 3 candidates)
  • East St. Louis Campus: civil service: Negotiated and Prevailing classification or administrative staff: Represented Classification

6 p.m. - Buffet style dinner, including stuffed pork chop and fried chicken with assorted cheesecake for dessert

An open bar will be available throughout the event with wine, beer and soda included.

There will be a silent auction, 50/50 drawing, and winner of a FY20 green parking permit drawing.

Tickets are $25 and include dinner, drinks, and music by the SIUE Student Jazz Combo.
