SIUE Welcomes High School Counselors Today

Today ends the two-day visit of 24 high school counselors from Chicago, Kansas City, Nashville, Memphis, and southern IL regions to campus, hosted by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.

While on campus, they will meet with various University representatives and hear updates related to programs we offer. In addition, they will have a chance to tour the Edwardsville community and hear from Edwardsville leaders.

Over the past five years, we have welcomed approximately 100 high school counselors to campus through this annual program with interest continuing to grow each year.

A special thanks to the Offices of the Chancellor, Provost and Enrollment Management for their support of this unique program.

Segue Features Visiting Playwright Cassandra Medley

SIUE’s Department of Theater and Dance offers students unique experiences that help them harness their craft and learn about the human experience.

On this week’s episode of Segue, SIUE’s premier radio show, co-host Greg Budzban, PhD, CAS dean, interviews playwright Cassandra Medley. This episode will air at 9 a.m. Sunday, March 24, on WSIE 88.7 FM The Sound and siue.edu/wsie.

Medley was recently on campus to present a portion of her play, “Noon Day Sun,” during the Second Annual Playwright Festival, sponsored by SIUE’s Black Theater Workshop, the Department of Theater and Dance, and the Center for Student Diversity and Inclusion.

From April 9-14, SIUE University Theater will present two of Medley’s one-act plays, “Daughter” and “Son,” along with the new play, “The War Within,” in the Metcalf Student Experiential Theater on campus. For ticket information, visit the Dunham Hall box office.
