Help Campus Kitchen at SIUE Raise the Dough!

The Campus Kitchen at SIUE is competing with more than 20 Campus Kitchens across the country to see which campus can “raise the most dough” in the Campus Kitchens Project “Raise the Dough” fundraiser.

The fundraiser runs through Friday, Feb. 22.  

The Campus Kitchen at SIUE relies solely on monetary and in-kind donations to continue fighting hunger and food insecurity in the St. Louis Metro area. We need YOU to help us!

Student Fitness Center Adds More Yoga Classes

Due to the increase of yoga participation numbers, an extra yoga class has been added to the Group Fitnss schedule:

As a reminder, you must be a Student Fitness Center member to participate in group fitness classes. Yoga classes are free for students and $15 per semester for others.

SIUE’s iCARE Program for mental health wellness and suicide prevention is a finalist for the 2019 Arcus Awards with the St. Louis Chamber. 

This award is presented to organizations that demonstrate exceptional commitment to leading the St. Louis Region’s authentic economic strengths and championing a better tomorrow for the region. 

The Arcus Awards also give out People’s Choice Awards to the finalist that receives the most votes.

Former “M*A*S*H” Actor Mike Farrell in Play about Famous Scientist, Dr. Charles Keeling, March 1

Noted actor and activist Mike Farrell will portray the scientist whose research on carbon dioxide (CO2) gave the world its first early warnings of global warming, during Southern Illinois University Edwardsville’s Arts & Issues presentation of “Dr. Keeling’s Curve.”

Emeriti Faculty Assoc. Request Proposals, Deadline March 18

The Emeriti Faculty Association is pleased to request proposals from SIUE tenure and tenure-track faculty for projects that strengthen the academic quality of programs and that enhance the reputation of the University.

Deadline for proposals is Monday, March 18. Application guidelines are available here.

Eligible activities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Departmental colloquia that involve recognized outside experts
  • Curricular development (disciplinary or interdisciplinary)
  • Faculty exchanges, including international exchanges
  • Scholar-in-residence programs

Ineligible activities include activities supported elsewhere in the University, such as research, development of teaching skills and individual professional development.
