SEHHB Hosts Mentoring Program Meeting, Today

The School of Education, Health and Human Behavior will host an SIUE informational meeting about the Give 30 Mentoring Program:

The Madison County Regional Office of Education requests the help of civic leaders to identify adults 21 years of age or older, including SIUE students, to serve as Give 30 mentors to local adolescents who are struggling.

Selected mentors will commit to spending approximately 30 minutes per week with their mentee. Prospective mentors will undergo background checks and training by the Regional Office of Education.

Q&A and networking conversations will follow the presentation.

Cookies and water will be provided.

Campus Recreation invites you to engage with certified personal trainers—ask questions and gain information about signing up for a fitness assessment and personal training packages.

Nominate a Student Leader of the Month

The Kimmel Student Involvement Center, in partnership with the Edwardsville Rotary, is pleased to accept nominations for the SIUE Student Leader of the Month.

Individuals selected for this award will be recognized at an upcoming Rotary meeting and at the annual Kimmel Leadership Awards Ceremony in April.

SIUE students can be nominated by students, faculty or staff. No self-nominations will be considered. Applications are accepted on an on-going basis, and should be received by the 16th of the month to be considered for that month's award. Any nominees not selected for one month, will be considered for the following months. Awards will be given for September through April each academic year.

Candidates will be selected based on the following criteria:

· High academic standards
· Campus involvement and activities
· Service to others on and off campus
· Leadership within their academic area or within an organization
· Demonstrated ability to promote spirit and pride at SIUE
